Meet Joanne Ramos, author of The Farm, which has been described by Marie Claire as “ The Handmaid’s Tale of 2019.” In this intimate event you can ask the author all the things you’re dying to know while enjoying a beverage and refreshments in a tranquil setting overlooking the Brisbane River.

JOANNE RAMOS was born in the Philippines and moved to Wisconsin when she was six. She graduated with a BA from Princeton University. After working in investment banking and private-equity investing for several years, she became a staff writer at The Economist. She lives in New York City with her husband and three children.

Pauline McLeod
Pauline McLeod is the Children's and YA Literature Specialist at Riverbend Books, Bulimba. A Teacher-Librarian and former English and History teacher, for over a decade Pauline was a coordinator of UQ Library's award-winning school outreach program UQL Cyberschool. She has an MA in Children's Literature and Graduate Diplomas in Secondary Education and Teacher-Librarianship. She has a special interest in YA fiction and is passionate about promoting and encouraging Australian stories. In 2015 Pauline was awarded the ABA Elizabeth Riley Fellowship for Children's Bookselling. Pauline is a current judge for 2019 of the Older Reader’s category of the CBCA awards and facilitates the monthly Teacher-Librarian bookclubs at Riverbend.
