Samantha Wheeler Gives Us Her Top 10 Books Growing Up

By Samantha Wheeler

Children's author and artist at this year's Word Play program, Samantha Wheeler gives us her ten favourite books growing up.

Samantha Wheeler was born in London and moved to Africa when she was five. She began writing in 2006 and signed with UQP to publish her first book in 2012. Her children's books focus on animals and wildlife conservation inspired by her love of animals as a child. Samantha now lives in Brisbane, Queensland with her family and escapes to the countryside to visit her horse, Oscar, whenever she can.

Samantha will be running four events at Word Play 2018 in which she shares the real-life inspirations behind her much-loved animal books, and shows how you can use your own experiences as inspiration for exciting stories.
