Unleash a whole new corner of your imagination as James Foley leads a workshop in creating characters. Consider the basic shapes of creature and character design and take part in some figurative writing practice to go alongside your new imagined friend.
From slimy zombie bunnies, to radical robot brothers, James’ creatures are designed for courageous kids. His graphic novel for junior readers Brobot (Freemantle Press) is full of attitude and action. The story invites readers to careen out of control with the fantastic ‘Brobot’, until inventor Sally realises that maybe there’s more to a brother than just pain.

James Foley
James Foley makes books for courageous kids. He writes and draws, gives talks and runs workshops. He comes from a long line of queuing enthusiasts. He illustrated My Dead Bunny which was shortlisted for the Children’s Book Council’s 2016 Picture Book of the Year, and The Last Viking, which was shortlisted for the CBCA’s 2013 Early Childhood Book of the Year. His picture book In The Lion was selected for the International Youth Library’s 2013 White Raven list. His latest book – Brobot - is a comic book for younger readers.
